friendly takeover – Linux Installations Workshop

After much talking about it, finally the practical application: On the 6th of October Alexander Tuchaček and Les Complices* start friendly takeover, a series of workshops dedicated to the collective learning of Linux! Other than Mac or Windows, Linux is a open source operating system, thus its source code is published and made available to the public, enabling anyone to copy, modify and redistribute it. In the workshop we will work on a collective approach towards the use of Linux.
On the first day of the workshop Linux will be installed on the computers of the participants. According to the interests of the group the day will be followed by various other meetings focussing on the applied daily use of Linux (security, standard applications, browser, e-mail, text processing, etc.).
Preparations / bring along:
_personal Windows or Mac Laptop on which you wish to install Linux
_to avoid the (small) risk of lost data please make sure you back-up your data before the workshop
_Linux can be installed as a second system (dual boot) or as the only system
_required hard disk space: 3 – 4 GByte minimum
_required RAM: 512 KByte minimum
